This is called ”Mamoul”, it’s a Middle Eastern cookie which we filled with dates and walnuts (you could use pistachios as well).

The Filling/ Fyllning
(Brush with egg and add a bit of black seeds on top. Put in the oven (200 degrees Celsius) for about 8-10 min – Pensla med ägg och och placera sedan svarta frön över. Ha det i ugenen (200 grader) i ca 8-10 min)
I don’t personally like the taste of cold milk but I LOVE milk popsicles hehe! I think it’s because the taste changes when the milk is boiled.
Boil the milk or heat it up a bit and add some sugar to it and mix. Pour it into plastic cups and add a teaspoon/popsicle stick and let it cool down before you put it in the freezer.

(Sauce)
Boil the water in a pot. Mix yoghurt with the flour, which you then pour into the boiling water and stir. Put Orzo and chicken stock and and let it boil and keep stirring on medium heat utill you notice that the Orzo is done. Don’t forget to put a bit of salt at the end.
Melt the butter in a pan. When it starts to sizzle, add the mint and chili powder and stir for about 20 seconds (don’t let it burn) and then pour it into the soup and mix a bit.

Blanda alla ingredienser till fyllningen och knåda det en aning tills allt har blandats/Mix up and knead the ingredients of the filling.

Knåda ihop ingredienserna tills du får en bra deg/knead the dough.
Tillagning av Mantı/The cooking of the Mantı
Strö mjöl på exempelvis diskbänken eller matbordet. Kavla sedan ut degen (tunt) och skär degen i små fyrkanter. Det är i dessa fyrkanter som du därefter fyller med köttfärsblandingen och fäster ihop kanterna. Dessa ska sedan koka (lite salt i vattnet) i vatten i ca 10-15 min. Häll dessa därefter i en sil som sedan ska blandas ihop med yoghurtsåsen. Slutligen häller du över kryddsåsen!
Sprinkle some wheat flour on the place where you want to roll out the dough. When you have rolled out the dough (thinly), the dough is going to be cut into small squares. Place a bit of filling in these squares and close them by folding the four sides and pressing them together. Boill them therafter in roughly 10-15 min (a bit salt in the water) and use a sieve to remove the water. Mix them with the yoghurtmixture and finally pour the spicy sauce over the mixture and your done!
Du kan också frysa in dem innan kokning och tillaga dem senare/ You could also put them in the freezer (before you boil them) and cook them later.
